CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - For almost two years, health leaders have encouraged us to wear a face mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

But as you know, case numbers of COVID-19 are going up right now because of the omicron variant of the virus.

We wanted to find out if it is time to upgrade your mask.

Dr. Scott Segal is the chair and professor of anesthesiology at Wake Forest School of Medicine.

Dr. Segal has studied the effectiveness of different types of masks and he joined us on QC@3 to talk about it.
