Before a big storm, arborists say take care of potentially dangerous trees

Whether it is rain, snow, or ice, before a big storm hits, experts say you want to make sure you are taking care of potentially dangerous trees in your yard. Certified arborists say sometimes trees need to simply be pruned and sometimes they need to come down. Arborist Chuck Holtzclaw of Paul Bunyan Tree Care told QC Morning’s Brian Stephenson that people need to consider the potential “targets” dangerous trees may have in their yards. Those targets could include homes and cars nearby, as well as people and children who play or walk in the area. Holtzclaw walked us through how to identify those dangerous trees and warning signs, as well as the liability that homeowners carry with trees on their property.
