The sky's the limit at this annual family-fun event.
Around 50,000 people are expected to attend the 46th annual Carolina BalloonFest happening October 18-20, 2019. The decades-old family tradition takes place every year just an hour outside of Charlotte at the Statesville Regional Airport.
For 46 years, hot air balloons fill the sky for one weekend, making it the perfect photo opportunity and the chance to get outside and do something different!
Executive Director of the festival, Bud Welch, said, “It’s an addiction. Once you come out and see these balloons and feel this crowd, you’ve got to come back.”
If you’re familiar with the event, you can expect some new things in store for this year. The circus will be on Saturday and Sunday, along with skydivers who are brand new to the show. As always, kids 12 and younger can get in for free and the kid zone at the fest is always a great time. Check out the complete list of all the events happening and start planning your weekend.
