A screenwriter in Charlotte recently earned a spot in a highly selective program called The Writers Lab. The program is for women over 40 years old and is supported by big names like Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, and Oprah Winfrey. Julie Zografos was one of just 12 writers selected. She joined us on QC@3 to talk about this experience. Julie tells us this is The Writers Lab’s 6th year. She tells us they’ve just recently opened it up to international applicants. Julie says a lot of people applied, only 12 were selected and she’s so excited to be one of the 12. She tells us normally everyone flies into New York and converges in person, but this year it will be done virtually. We also got a chance to talk with Julie about her screenplay, “Dark Quarry” and what she hoping to get out of the lab.
