Creating Art For Loved Ones With Cancer

Fun activities to do at home while raising money for a good cause.

24 Foundation is hosting a virtual experience next week. Each year, the charity holds a big fundraising event called 24 hours of booty.
The money raised goes to helping people in our community affected by cancer, beyond funding research. 24 hours of booty is now “Unlooped” this year because of┬áCOVID-19 but the organizations the event supports still need your help. One of those organizations is Wind River Cancer Wellness Retreats & Programs. Shannon Carney joined us on QC@3 to talk about how important it is to support local nonprofits. Shannon says during this time it is very important to remember the people that are not doing well. Wind River is a beneficiary of 24 Hours of Booty. Shannon tells us they help Wind River create free retreats. She says it’s an extraordinary thing that they do, in order to allow us to do the work that we want to do, which is to serve people in a time of need.

Shannon also showed us an activity that you can do at home. All you need is a blank canvas, a few pieces of paper towel, a sheet of paper, and some paint. Here is what the finished artwork looks like:
