A neighbor is showing support for a tough 11 year old
The Boston Marathon was scheduled to happen April 20th. The event has been recheduled for September due to COVID-19. The delay hasn’t stopped Fort Mill Mom, Katie Milam, who is running for her 11-year-old neighbor, Greyson. Greyson Gload is the son of former Major League Baseball player Ross Gload and his wife Betsy. Greyson has been in the fight of his life, battling a brain tumor since 2016. He has had two surgeries and the fight continues. Katie – running with Greyson’s journey in mind – already has run 26.2 miles around her Fort Mill neighborhood. She did it in three hours and 40 minutes. The neighborhood jaunt was in preparation for the Boston Marathon, also a fundraising event through which Katie is raising $10,000 for the National Brain Tumor Society. She already has raised $6500. With five months to go, Katie hopes donations will reach, or even exceed her goal.
