A local film festival honoring a life lost too soon!
An annual film festival that features directors, producers, and writers from the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee gets underway tonight. But there’s a much bigger mission behind the Joedance Film Festival. Diane Restaino is the founder and President of the Joedance Film Festival. She joined us on QC Morning to tell us why this film festival was created.
In order to make it feel less like a virtual event and more like you’re at an actual film festival, Diane and the team have come up with a list of things to do as you get ready to watch.
- First, grab a hot dog. The Joedance Film Festival has been serving hot dogs and chips since 2010 and it’s become the official snack.
- Their official beer provider is Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, so swing by and pick up your favorite brew.
- The festival actually started in a courtyard. So grab your neighbors, your friends, and watch the movies outside (socially distant of course).
