Coronavirus isn't stopping an annual race in Charlotte. Now, it'll be virtual.
Social distancing has forced many organizations to re-think important fundraising events and the Latin American Coalition (LAC) is no different.
The annual City of Immigrants 5K will be a VIRTUAL run, raising money this year to help Charlotte immigrant communities affected by COVID-19.
LAC has restructured services to open a Spanish hotline for the Latino community. It is a resources for families who cannot work from home and may not get federal aid to find help with groceries, answer questions about schools, point them to low-cost clinics, and various other services.
Registration for the Virtual Run closes May 3rd and the race takes place after that through June 8th.
Carolina Diaz with the Latin American Coalition joined QC@3 to talk about how the race will work.
