Tim Miner from Charlotte is Creative talked about the Panthers’ #MyCauseMyCleats Initiative on QC@3 on Friday. This project gives NFL players the opportunity to express projects they support on their cleats. The Panthers’ teamed up with artists involved in the Black Lives Matter murals in Charlotte and other projects to come up with designs for their cleats.
19 – year old Artist Destiny Wilson joined QC@3 to talk about her design and what she got out of doing the work that sends a strong message for all to see. She didn’t participate in the Black Lives Mural but she has designed messages centered around social justice. Her cleat design was for Panthers Tight End Colin Thompson. His cleats have the words Athletes Helping Athletes.
Other Panthers’ players had cleats that highlighted the Charlotte Rescue Mission, National Urban League, Susan G. Komen, and other causes.
