Local chef creates farm to table 3-course meals for 30 dollars.
We want to bring you a story of adaptation and community this afternoon. As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the restaurant industry hard. Upstream, a restaurant at Phillips Place in Charlotte closed permanently after 20 years. Chef Sam Diminich lost his job. But then Chef Sam came up with a new project called “Your Farms Your Table“. It’s a 3-course meal for 30 dollars, delivered right to you. Chef Sam buys the ingredients straight from local farmers, cooks the meals, and then hand delivers them from his car to each customer. QC@3’s Jordan Sawyers caught up with him to find out where the idea came from.
