“We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we do know we have today!”
An author here in Charlotte just released a new novel. It’s a coming-of-age novel about handling uncertainty as a middle-school aged boy navigates his mother’s battle with cancer. Author Bess Kercher joined us on QC@3 to talk more about “Now and at the Hour“.
Bess tells us there were several different things that intersected to create the foundation for this story. She says one of those was reading a middle-grade novel called, “Wonder” with one of her boys. She says this book helped her realized it was possible to write meaningful stories that dealt with serious subject matter, but in a way that was manageable for kids.
Listen to find out what other things helped create the idea for this book.
