Uptown Charlotte residents just got a new neighbor.
Whole Foods Market opened their doors for business Wednesday morning. Located at 400 Stonewall Street next to the Stonewall Station LYNX light rail stop, the new 36,000+ square-foot store aims to be more than just another grocery store in Charlotte. (It's the first full-scale grocery store in the Uptown area.)
Whole Foods Market is all about incorporating local, with certain produce, floral arrangements, beer, and other products coming from area vendors. This is in addition to their already healthy food choice lineup. And don't forget lunch and dinner! The store offers a variety of food, perfect for your lunch break or on your way home from work. And if you're looking for a spot to do work or study, the store offers an atmosphere for that too. (Let's go hang out at the grocery store, hmu!)
If you're an Amazon Prime member, shopping at Whole Foods Market is cheaper. Extra savings are offered for members on sale items and some items for purchase are Prime-exclusive (It's like being in a club where only certain people can buy a certain kind of mango.).
The first 500 people through the door Wednesday morning were given a gift card ranging from $5 to $50. One lucky customer even walked away with a gift card worth $500 - not bad!
Whole Foods Market is open Sunday through Saturday from 7am until 10pm.
