New Leash On Life: Ringo

Adopt don't shop!

We hope to give a local shelter pet a new leash on life. Today we are excited to introduce you to Ringo! He is a 2-year-old pit mix and weighs 53 pounds. Ringo has been with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Animal Care and Control for more than a month. We are told he is a fun and outgoing dog who greets people with enthusiasm. He likes to play outside, enjoys car rides and chasing a ball, and is treat motivated. He is young, so he does need some simple manners training and has a little separation anxiety. The shelter says Ringo can be around dogs in the future if properly introduced but is too excited and other dogs will not appreciate that. He would need to be the only dog until he undergoes some training there.

If you want to meet Ringo, be sure to visit CMPD Animal Care and Control off Byrum Drive. Masks are required and only 10 people will be allowed inside at a time. Staycations have resumed, so you will be able to take Ringo home for up to 5 days to see if he’s the right fit for you.
