Online series features traditional arts of the Catawba nation

Faye Greiner of the upcoming Catawba Traditional Arts Online Series discusses and previews her skills as a reed basket maker and talks about the traditional arts of Catawba Nation. Their upcoming event is hosted by USC Lancaster’s Native American Studies Center.

The Native American Studies Center presents an online series of talks and demonstrations highlighting the traditional arts of the Catawba Nation. Guests at the event include Catawba Tribal Archivist Ensley Guffey, storyteller and Catawba potter Keith “Little Bear” Brown, reed basket maker Faye Greiner, flute and drum maker Monty “Hawk” Branham, and longleaf pine needle basket maker Beckee Garris.
