WBTV and QC Life are proud to partner with The Summer Camp Fund to help raise money to send children to outdoor, nature-based camps in 2021.
Since its founding in 2009 by The Charlotte Observer, The Summer Camp Fund in its first 11 years provided scholarships to more than 4,000 low-income children in the Charlotte region. These experiences are designed to help children with skills such as self-confidence, teamwork, literacy and water safety, as well as build aspiration for the future, These are children who are unlikely to have a camp opportunity without the help of the community.
“The Observer’s stories about the importance of camp and its often life-changing impact on children resulted in extremely generous support from readers. We are very excited about our new partnership with WBTV and are certain its viewers will be equally responsive.” – Debbie Abels, President, The Summer Camp Fund
While summer camps may look a little different this year, there are plenty of things that you can do from home so that you don’t miss out on the experience. Over the next several weeks, QC Morning host Jonathan Stacey will feature activities aimed at keeping your children entertained and educated throughout the coming months right in your own backyard!
Our efforts wouldn’t be possible without you! You can help with our efforts to raise money to provide scholarships to send local children to camps in 2021 by donating to The Summer Camp Fund. Watch QC Morning weekdays at 9 a.m. on WBTV.
