Queen City Festivals Happening in May

The great thing about Charlotte is there is never a dull moment when it comes to events. Literally every week (and weekend) is filled with something to do. Here's a list of the cool festivals happening in and around Charlotte throughout the month of May.

South Carolina Strawberry Festival

With a whole week of planned events, this is a festival for the whole family! Featuring concerts, a car show and pick-you-own strawberries, this one is free minus a parking fee, so enjoy it night after night!

Carolina Rebellion Music Festival

A ton of headbanging headliners will be coming to Concord the first weekend of the month, including Avenged Sevenfold, Def Leppard, Korn, Soundgarden, among others.

Finn Fiesta in the Village

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with margarita tastings, a taco eating contest and even chihuahua races! Ballantyne Village will be transformed into a party haven ready to celebrate the holiday all night long.

Spring Beer Fest

What does dogs + brews equal? If you guessed pure bliss, you’re definitely right. This festival features unlimited samples (need we say more?) and people can bring their pups!

North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival

The quaint town of Huntersville will host 11 bands and 38 of your favorite local breweries. And with that many alcohol options, it’s sure to be a great weekend.

Spring Into Arts Festival

Promoting all things visual and performing arts, this event will encompass all of Downtown Concord. Take the kids for the Children’s Area with plenty to keep them entertained!

South End Hops Festival

Tons of breweries will be on hand as money is raised for RescuedMe, a local charity which rescues cute pets. Several bands will be performing throughout the event.

Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival

Take three amazing things, combine them and what do you have? A very delicious time waiting for you. The website says they’ll have 60 beers, 40 bourbons and a ton of BBQ.

Carolina Roots Musicfest

With a more laid back vibe, this Statesville festival features group The Black Lillies for the 2017 lineup. Pre-ordered weekend tickets will run you $35 a person.

For those looking to test their taste buds and try a variety of beers, this is for you! There will be live music and plenty of alcohol on hand.

Drumstrong Rhythm & Arts Festival

Going into its 11th year, this charity event raises the roof while also raises money to fight cancer. The goal is to break the record for longest continuous drum circle.

This event highlights everything healthy and eco-friendly. With a growing list of speakers, they’ll focus on how to live a sustainable and green lifestyle.

Festa Italiana Food and Wine Festival

If you’re looking for blues, look no more. Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens will be holding a music festival featuring documentary screenings and plenty of music.

600 Festival

This massive festival helps kick off one of the most popular pastimes in Charlotte: NASCAR. The entire festival includes a parade, 5K race and concert series featuring big names like DJ Jazzy Jeff, Billy Currington and Jake Owen.

Mint Hill Madness

This festival celebrates the founding of the small town. With food, music, a carnival, fair and fireworks, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy!
