You may not be into setting goals for the new year. So why not focus on setting intentions for 2021? Intentions are more focused on progress, rather than a certain thing you need to attain. According to a philosopher with “Psychology Today”, there are three simple questions we need to ask ourselves.
Three Questions To Ask:
- What do I want to do more? How you spend your days is how you spend your life. It’s good for yourself if you are spending time on the right things. Are you enjoying what you are doing? For example, if you started baking bread during quarantine and really enjoyed it, maybe that is something you should do more of. Your intention could be more time in the kitchen learning new things.
- What do I want to do less? As yourself if some things you are doing feel like a waste of time. Maybe you spent too much time online in 2020. Your intention can be to put down the phone or step away from the computer more often.
- How do I want to feel? Psychology Today says it is important to take the time to reflect on how exactly you want to feel in the year to come. If you want to feel happy, is it about more laughter and smiles, or a calm sense of contentment? If you want to feel relaxed, is it about feeling physically looser or mentally more stable, or both? Set your intention for it now.
