An announcement today from The Mint Museum. Both locations are closing for three weeks, starting today. This comes one day after Mecklenburg County health leaders urged people to stay home as much as possible until February 2nd. Caroline Portillo is the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications at the Mint Museum. She joined us on QC@3 to talk about this decision. Caroline says they didn’t have to shut down but the safety of their visitors and staff is paramount. She says if you purchased a ticket to visit the museum during the three weeks, you will get an email to decide whether you want a refund or you want to reschedule your visit. Caroline says if you need to get your art fix while they are closed, you can check out the “Mint Museum from Home“.
