“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Today we take time to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Because of the pandemic, many events that you may not have been able to make it to normally are being done virtually! Afeni Grace is the program coordinator at the Harvey B. Gantt Center. She joined us on QC Morning to tell us about what events they have planned for this special day. Afeni tells us this year’s MLK Day is special not because we’ve had to pivot to all virtual experiences, but just reflecting on the past year. She says it’s just important that we revisit the themes and the vision of Dr. King now more than ever. Afeni says they have a full day of exclusive virtual programming. Afeni says they’ll start with storytelling and a musical performance by Mary J. Williams at 10am. She tells us the events will last until 5pm.
