Carowinds will remain closed for the remainder of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The park made the announcement in an update Tuesday in regard to the continued safety and concern of park guests.

“We are disappointed that we are unable to welcome our guests back to the park this season,” said Pat Jones, Carowinds vice president and general manager. “The safety of our guests and associates is always our top priority… We look forward to a great 2021 season with new rides, attractions, and entertainment for the whole family.”

The park also detailed what season Passholders and the community can expect for 2021. This includes the Boogie Board Racer opening next summer at Carolina Harbor water park and the debut of Grand Carnivale. The latest update outlined that 2020 Season Passholders would receive a Pass Perks™ Loyalty Reward valid for purchases within the park in 2021. Day tickets sold for the 2020 season will be valid through September 6, 2021.

Carowinds says they are going to continue to work with public health officials to make sure that guests and associates can safely return back to the amusement park next season.
