If you are a fan of biscuits, you may already know about Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit in South End. If you don’t know about the hit shop, you will want to! The Charleston-based company shared their buttermilk biscuit recipe with the QC Life team, and it’s so easy to follow. They also showed us how to make their popular cinnamon biscuits. Callie’s Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups White Lily Self-Rising Flour, plus more for dusting
  • 6 tbsp salted butter (divided)
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • ¾ to 1 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  • Preheat over to 400*F
  • Place flour into bowl, add 4 tbsp salted butter
  • Using snapping motion with your fingers to work butter into flour
  • Once you have the consistency of parmesan cheese, add cream cheese in the same snapping manner until the cream cheese portions are the size of a dime
  • Add buttermilk and combine until the dough is wet and sticky
  • Liberally dust the dough, rolling surface, rolling pin and cutter with flour
  • Flip the dough onto a dusted surface
  • Roll the dough until it’s 1-2 inches thick
  • As you cut the biscuits, place on a parchment lined baking sheet so they are touching
  • Melt remaining butter and brush onto biscuits

Bake for 16-18 minutes, rotating pan halfway through
