Country legend Randy Travis is still beloved by those in his hometown of Marshville, N.C.
A 2013 stroke that nearly killed him has now left Travis without the ability to speak or sing much.
“He wasn’t going to give up. He wasn’t going to give in,” said Mary Travis, Randy’s wife, recalling the artist’s previous fight for his life in our sitdown interview with the couple.
Still to this day, his heart and will to live are inspiring. As Travis re-releases the album that started his Hall of Fame career, “Storms of Life,” our Brian Stephenson was there for a “first” on a visit home.
It starts on the edge of Marshville, where the signs proclaim the pride for the hometown boy. A country music legend who is just as proud of where he grew up, as the people here are of him.
Come along for this emotional homecoming and watch how Travis continues to make an impact both inside and outside of the music world.
