Red Bridges BBQ matriarch honored for her contributions to barbecue

If you’ve been to Shelby, you’ve heard about or eaten inside Red Bridges BBQ.

In fact, it is so well known people travel miles for a bite.

Now, an honor has been bestowed upon their late matriarch.

Lyttle Bridges Cabaniss was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame in Kansas City.

She ran the restaurant after her husband Red passed away and she’s considered to be the first female barbecue entrepreneur in North Carolina.

Seems like that makes this a good time for Brian Stephenson to head out Highway 74 to get a little Carolina ‘que.
