White Diamond Spa is something of a mission for Dr. Joy White. Ever since she was 5 years old, she knew she wanted to be a doctor.
Today, through her business, she has a remedy for women fighting cancer, domestic violence, or juggling home and career.
“Know that she is loved and that she can go through this journey regardless of what it may look like – that she can come on the other side of it even more empowered,” Dr. White said.
White had to use that same medicine three years ago.
“I had finished breastfeeding my son. [I] breastfed him for 15 months and during the time I felt something in my right breast,” she said.

Her diagnosis was stage 3 invasive breast cancer.
“The saying is true – I believe as physicians we are the worst patients,” she says. “It was difficult for me to understand that I have to be the one that has to be taken care of and I have to do what is necessary – regardless of work, regardless of family obligations. That I have to make certain to take care of myself and get to my doctor’s appointment and treatment sessions.”
After months of chemo, weeks of radiation, and surgery, she’s better but still fighting.
“I take medication every day to help prevent reoccurrence of the breast cancer and I also do monthly injections,” Dr. White says. “I am vigilant [about] going to my oncology appointments and understanding I have to do whatever it takes to prevent this from recurring. I am hopeful.”
Now she wants to pass that hope onward. White knows how cancer can take its toll and that’s why services she’s offering to the women chosen for this initiative are specific.

Skin analysis and facials, because unfortunately as a result of the chemotherapy drugs and other medication, damage can result from the treatment.

“[Our tub] has pink salt and it has pool salt and essential oils that help with inflammation relaxation and sinus issues also skin health as well,” she said.
These services are worth about $5,000.
“If I can make a difference in someone’s life just based on what I have gone through – for me, that means everything to me,” she said.
