Artists create giant postcards for the holidays in Charlotte

Earlier this year, Charlotte is Creative teamed up with Charlotte Center City Partners and six artists to create love-themed postcards at 7th Street Station.

Now, to complement the decorations and excitement of the 75th Annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Parade, Charlotte Center City Partners reached out and asked Charlotte is Creative to do giant holiday cards on the square of Trade and Tryon Streets.

Charlotte is Creative worked with five local creatives – all of very different styles and backgrounds – to create giant 4-foot by 4-foot cards.

They’re on view through the holidays in Polk Park’s kitty-corner from the giant tree at the Bank of America Corporate Center.

Each is built just like a greeting card, with a holiday message on the inside and artist information on the back.

They’re designed to be a backdrop for holiday photos with family and friends

When paradegoers come to uptown Charlotte, they can head to the square and take photos of the cards.
