CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Tuesday marks 80 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor and a Charlotte author is marking the day with a special event called “Charlotte Comes out of Her Shell.”

The event’s name refers to the Shell Assembly Plant, which is a massive assembly factory that employed people during World War II.

Meredith Ritchie’s upcoming book “Poster Girls” is a historical fiction that gives us a look at World War II era in Charlotte and the women who worked at the Shell Plant.

The book is launching in 2022 and the event is happening on December 7.
