CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - If you provide care for someone in your family, you are not alone.
In fact, one in five Americans are caregivers.
That’s according to the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP.
One in five comes out to about 53 million adults. But there is help out there.
Registration just opened for free workshops for caregivers to help them care for others and themselves.

Southminster, which funded the program as part of its continued dedication to supporting healthy aging initiatives, recently announced that registration for free 2022 online workshops is now open.
Called Caregiver Thrive, Learn, Connect (TLC), the program consists of six, two-hour virtual workshops led by trained facilitators who teach coping skills to help family caregivers deal with stress, depression and burden, adopting strategies to improve their own quality of life while they care for others.
The program is one of the first priorities of the Age-Friendly Mecklenburg Plan developed by Mecklenburg County.
