This week, we are connecting with the Billy Graham Library for its annual Christmas at the Library.

This is the 14th year the Billy Graham Library has decked the halls to retell the Christmas story.

Down through the years, more than 468,000 people have made a connection at the library during Christmas time.

As soon as you enter the library, you will see a beautiful 24-feet Christmas tree decorated to the tee.

Visitors witness a live nativity scene, and people are able to pet the animals before showtime.

This year a camel, a donkey, sheep, goats, a Zebu cow and a llama will be part of the nativity scene.

Volunteers started preparing for this event back in October.

Christmas was a special time for the influential Rev. Billy Graham. He loved sharing the good news about Christmas to all.

There will be caroling, horse carriage rides, storytelling and prepared meals offered each night.

We talked to Graham’s assistant David Bruce about the importance of this divine connection.

“Culture and the struggle today of life just demands for us some quiet and opportunity to reflect. So many pressures on every one of us - whether it’s individual or families, single persons or a couple children - there’s so many things that command our attention, that divide us quite often. This is a place of wholeness, of joy in common relationship around the theme of Christmas especially right now. Everything at the library reflects that marvelous way to connect with people and to connect with an age-old story that provides hope for all of us,” Bruce said.

If you want to experience this Christmas connection at the library, you have until Dec. 23. You are encouraged to make reservations.

People say visiting the library during this time gives them a little peace and joy.
