CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - The good people over at Charlotte is Creative introduced their friend to us - Jorge Gonzales of Bonitos Hats.
Bonitos Hats is a small business in the Queen City that specializes in hand-painted and hand-crafted hats.
The owners are originally from Guanajuato, Mexico so they use the culture-inspired designs and patterns followed by the usage of vibrant colors which are displayed on all their hand-painted hats.
They use jute, canvas, vegan suedes and leathers and they come in a variety of looks and sizes. The jute and canvas are UV-ray protected and water-resistant allowing you to wear them out by the ocean or kayaking through a river without fearing that they will smear or fade.
”It is a team effort. It starts at my family’s business in Guanajuato, Mexico. That the hats (some painted and some not) are shipped here to us in Charlotte. We finish painting, embellishing and giving a coating to the hats to protect our work. We go to pop-up markets and different art events along the East Coast,” Gonzales told Charlotte is Creative.
