CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - World Kidney Day is coming up on March 10th, but there is a group of people getting ready right now to mark the day in a very huge and unusual way
Twenty-two kidney donors will travel to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Matt Harmody is representing Charlotte and the Carolinas on the climb team. His father died at 59 from peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis and a failed cadaver transplant, and Harmody made an anonymous kidney donation in 2017.
You can view more about the climb here.
