Conference offers diverse groups of students opportunity to learn about legal profession. The 'Increasing Diversity in the Legal Profession Conference' will offer college and high school students an opportunity to explore the legal profession.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - The 15th annual ‘Increasing Diversity in the Legal Profession Conference’ will be held later this month in an effort to expose diverse groups to the legal profession.

The event, which is put on by the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Pipeline Programming Subcommittee, aims to offer high school and college students an opportunity to ask questions about law school, as well as entry into law school.

The conference will take place on March 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a panel of law school admissions counselors, current law students and local attorneys.

This year’s keynote speaker is Mr. Kodwo Ghartey-Tagoe, who serves as the executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary for Duke Energy.

Ghartey-Tagoe is the primary legal advisor to Duke Energy’s board of directors and senior management, and he leads the Office of the General Counsel.
