CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Opening Weekend at Carowinds is just weeks away, the amusement park announced Tuesday.
The park said it will open exclusively to season passholders on Friday, March 8, before opening to everyone else later a day later.
This year will mark the second season for the new Aeronautica Landing section of the park after it opened in 2023.
Other notable dates at Carowinds in 2024 include the opening of the Carolina Harbor Waterpark on May 25, the return of SCarowinds on select nights from Sept. 13 to Oct. 27, and WinterFest, which will run from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31.
Carowinds will also host firework shows on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day.

According to its online calendar, the park will only be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday most weeks in March, April and May. It will be open the week of April 1, when it will be open for spring break shows and events, and the week of May 27, when seven-day-a-week operations begin. After Aug. 17, operations will cut back to only Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday.
Season passes, which start at $95 and include unlimited visits to the park and free parking, can be purchased here.
Carowinds officials said the chaperone policy will remain in effect in 2024, requiring all guests 15 years old or younger to be accompanied by an adult 21 or up after 4 p.m.
