CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - “The world is waiting for you. Good luck. Travel safe. Go!”

With those words, Phil Keoghan, the host, and executive producer of ‘The Amazing Race’ announces the 36th season of the American reality competition show, premiering tonight at 9:30 p.m. The contest starts in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with a traditional Mexican rodeo.

For those of you, who are unfamiliar with the show, it follows 13 teams who are competing for a one-million-dollar prize in a race around the world. This season, they will visit two new countries Barbados & The Dominican Republic.

According to Keoghan fans of the show can expect one thing above all else, surprises!

“Every time they rip an envelope, and read the clue inside, they have no idea where they are going, what they are doing, or how they’re going to get there,” Keoghan said.

In addition to showing their viewers fierce competition, they also love to highlight the cultural aspect of their destinations, according to the New Zealand TV producer.

“We want to share the world, we want to share cultures, we want to share differences and open people’s eyes up to new places,” he said.

Fans can look forward to comedic moments, heart-felt challenges, and battles of mental as well as physical strength.

Keoghan said we will see contestants do things that they may never have dreamed of doing in their lifetime, like paragliding over a city.

If you want to join them on their 36th race, be sure to tune back in today Wed, March 13 at 9:30 p.m.
