CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Do you love decorating your nails with complicated art designs, or do you just want them to look clean and healthy?
Either way, there are a few things you should keep in mind before heading to a nail salon and MK Sholesi, the owner of The Good Polish, came by the studio today to share those with us.

She recommended always booking an appointment either online or via phone to make sure that the nail technician can focus solely on your service and doesn’t have to rush. Otherwise, you might have to wait and hour or even longer, according to Sholesi.
Sholesi also advised to set aside time for nail or gel removals and to under no circumstances remove them at home without the right tools. According to the expert, you should allow for an additional 20 or 30 minutes to avoid damaging your nails.
What’s more, Sholesi stressed that art takes time, and its complexity will determine the length and cost of your appointment. She recommended communicating your ideas to the nail stylist ahead of your appointment.

Lastly, the nail salon owner reminded us that the amount of time a manicure lasts depends on our lifestyle and how thoroughly we look after them. According to Sholesi, we should avoid using our nails as tools and apply cuticle oil regularly for long-lasting results.
