CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - A teenager from Charlotte is making an impact his community, encouraging and mentoring more than two dozen younger kids.
Malyk Rowell, who has been part of The Male’s Place for four years now, is making that impact at just 15 years old.
Since The Male’s Place was founded in 1993, more than 3,000 youth have moved through its programs, which are aimed at fostering educational, spiritual, agricultural, social, civic, recreational and cultural enrichment.
Many of the mentees have gone on to college, military or the workforce, despite 95% coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
