CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - A local high-schooler is being recognized for her efforts to improve women’s heart health.

Maeve Payton, a freshman at Charlotte Catholic, was named a Go Red for Women 2024 Teen of Impact, awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA). Only 10 teenagers across the country were given the honor.

She shared the reason why she got involved with the Go Red for Women movement, and talked some about her own survivor story.

AHA development director Sarah Jenkins also joined the show to talk more about the mission and importance of improving women’s heart health.
