Local teenager awarded Boys & Girls Club’s highest honor Briana Higgins was named North Carolina’s Youth of the Year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - A local teenager won the Boys & Girls Club’s highest honor for 2024.

Briana Higgins was named North Carolina’s Youth of the Year. The honor is given to the teen who best represents the Boys & Girls Clubs and the voices of millions of Club youth.

For more than 75 years, the Youth of the Year program has recognized young people for their outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to health and well-being.

Briana and Major Jason Burns, area commander for the Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte, joined the show to talk more about her story and work in the community.
