'All Around the Dog Park' teaching kids to celebrate our differences

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Like dogs, every child is different and one author is using that connection to teach acceptance to kids.

Abby Heilman is the author of “All Around the Dog Park,” a new children’s book inspired by Central Park

Heilman says the theme of the book is celebrating everyone’s unique differences and hopes readers will be inspired to embrace what makes them unique.

Heilman is from the Denver/Lake Norman area and is a graduate of Appalachian State University.
