CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Fifteen years ago, U.S. Airways Flight 1549 had to make an emergency landing on its way to Charlotte.
That landing came in the Hudson River shortly following takeoff after the plane hit a flock of birds and the engine failed.
Captain Chesley Sullenberger safely landed in the river and everyone onboard survived. It’s now known as the “Miracle on the Hudson.”
Because the flight was heading to Charlotte, the plane was eventually brought to the Queen City and put into a museum.
A new museum just opened last week and QC Life’s Jorge Andres went to take a look around.
