PINEHURST, N.C. (QC Life) - This weekend is a big one for artist Lee Wybranski.
He won’t be on the course at Pinehurst No. 2, but he has certainly has a presence at this year’s U.S. Open.
Wybranksi has been the official poster artist for the tournament for 17 years now, this year creating a poster featuring Pinehurst’s iconic brick porch looking out over the Payne Stewart statue. With the tournament being in North Carolina, it also depicts a a pitcher of sweet tea and white rocking chairs.
The U.S. Open has taken him to some of golf’s most prestigious courses, including Pinehurst, of course, as well as Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach, Oakmont and Erin Hills.
QC Life’s Brian Stephenson spent some time with Wybranksi, learning more about his work and the meaning behind it.
