CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Whether battling the hot weather, spending time at the pool or taking a trip to the beach, there are ways to protect your hair from damage this summer.
LaToya Walton, hairstylist and owner of Studio L Artistry, joined our show to give some tips on what to and not to do when it comes to caring for our hair this summer. To hear the tips that apply to all hair types, view the segment above.
Some things she said you should do for your hair include:
- Using a UV protectant
- Rinsing and hydrating your hair to prevent if from getting too dry
- Conditioning your hair before detangling it
- Releasing heat
- Doing protective hair styles
Some things she said to avoid doing include:
- Going into the water with dry hair
- Leaving your hair loose
- Wearing tight hair styles
- Washing your hair too much
- Putting wet hair into a ponytail
