CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - For the second time ever, Copa America is being hosted in the U.S., and soccer culture has spread across the Queen City as it is the location for two major matches.

Copa America is a soccer tournament usually hosted in South America. Participating countries are from South America, Central America, as well as the United States, Mexico and Canada. With it being hosted in the U.S. this year, fans from all over are coming to Charlotte to cheer on their countries.

On Wednesday, the semifinal between Uruguay and Colombia will take place at Bank of America Stadium at 8 p.m.

The winner of Copa America will be one of the following: Argentina, Canada, Colombia or Uruguay. Following Wednesday’s game, the two teams who lost their matches will play against each other to determine the third place title holder.

The third place match will be held Saturday, July 13 at Bank of America Stadium at 8 p.m.

Depending on if Argentina loses its match against Canada on Tuesday, those attending the third-place match may have the chance to see big names such as Lionel Messi play in Charlotte.

With a capacity of over 74,000 people, tens of thousands are expected to be in Charlotte for the matches.
