CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - The Levine Museum of the New South is encouraging community building, reflection and connection on our region’s history and our future.

Since 1990, the museum has told the stories of people who have impacted and been impacted by our region and holds community events that allow guests to navigate the current world through a history lens. Programming and content from the museum, such as exhibitions and talks, encourages important conversations and sometimes covers the history of inequality.

One of these events hosted by the museum is being held Tuesday, July 16 from 6:30- 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church-West. This event is part of the museum’s Author Talk Series and will be featuring Bakari Sellers, a CNN political analyst and practicing attorney.

At this event Sellers will be talking about his book “The Moment: Thoughts on the Race Reckoning That Wasn’t and How We All Can Move Forward Now,” which covers topics such as healthcare, education, national politics and policing.

Doors for his talk open at 6 p.m. and there is free parking. Tickets can be purchased through the museum’s website.
