CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - There’s nothing like summer days in Charlotte, check out what’s happening around the Queen City this weekend.
Brewstock Music Festival (The Rooster, Gastonia), Friday & Saturday: Get ready to rock with some of the best local talent. What started as a small local show has grown to the festival it is today with bigger acts than ever before. This year’s lineup includes Psychostick, Sugar!, Cultus Black, Cone Cold and so much more with genres ranging from rock to metal. Tickets start at $17.
Catawba County Parks 25th Birthday (Mountain Creek Park), Saturday 9 a.m.: It’s the final birthday bash weekend for Catawba County Parks and it’s going off with a bang! Start your morning with a ranger-led walk through Mountain Creek Park then test your skills with a self-guided scavenger hunt. Fuel up with your favorite food trucks and enjoy the natural amenities at the park. Admission is free.
Panthers Back Together (Bank of America Stadium), Saturday 9:30 a.m.: Get ready for another great season of football with the Carolina Panthers! If you’ve been waiting all year for the Panthers to hit the field again, now’s the time. Bank of America Stadium will open up to fans to watch the Panthers practice live. You can also catch performances by the TopCats, Purrcussion, the Black & Blue Crew and, of course, Sir Purr. Admission is free but you will need to register for tickets on Ticketmaster.
Christmas in July Night Market (Veterans Park, Fort Mill), Saturday 5 to 8 p.m.: ‘Tis the season for Christmas in July and the Fort Mill Farmers & Artisans Market is going all in on the festivities. Meet Santa Claus, the Gingerbread Man and a Christmas tree stilt walker, plus shop around while listening to holiday music. Enjoy holiday favorite foods and soak in the holiday décor around the market. Admission is free.

Plaza Midwood Summer Series (Central & Thomas), Saturday 5 to 9 p.m.: You’re invited to a summer block party at one of Charlotte’s most colorful neighborhoods. Head to Plaza Midwood for an outdoor bash with live music, local vendors, games, food and drink from the Plaza’s renowned restaurants and bars, and more. Admission is free.
New Kids on the Block & Paula Abdul (PNC Music Pavilion), Saturday 7 p.m.: For 40 years, the Kids still have the “Right Stuff.” Donnie, Joey, Jonathan, Jordan and Danny are still rocking it for the “Blockheads” with the hits that generations have grown up to. Plus, you’ll get the high-energy moves with “Straight Up” Paula Abdul. Tickets start at $45.
Charlotte Knights SpongeBob Food & Film (Truist Field), Saturday 7:30 p.m.: Pack a blanket and take the family over to Truist Field for a movie night under the stars while surrounded by Uptown’s picturesque skyline. On the big screen will be The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004). Not only will you get to see the movie, but you will also get to eat what’s on screen. Each ticket includes food items as they appear on screen. General admission is $29.95 and includes admission, the movie and the food. Children 2 and under are free.
Charlotte Peruvian Festival (Symphony Park), Sunday 12-8:30 p.m.: Back for its fifth year, the Charlotte Peruvian Festival is a cultural celebration of the Peruvian people, music and art. Enjoy beautiful performances and live music, artwork to take home or take a bite on some of the best Peruvian food in North Carolina. This year’s special guest is Pedro Loli “El Principe de la Cumbia.” Admission is $10 before 4 p.m. and $20 after. Free for children 10 and under.
Queen’s Fest (Charlotte Restaurant Week), ends Sunday: Foodies, it’s your last chance for a great deal. If there’s a restaurant in Charlotte you’ve always wanted to try, you’re in luck.
