CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Say goodbye to the summer season and get ready for school with some of these local school supply drives.
QC Life’s Jorge Andres was out in the community this morning to check out several back-to-school drives in the Charlotte area.
Mecklenburg County Park and Rec. is helping families get ready for school by setting up several local drives.
This weekend on August 3, the Sugar Creek Recreation Center in Northeast Charlotte will host their first back-to-school bash. This bash will not only provide much-needed school supplies but also host a variety of games and live music.
Andres met with Megan Keul, the marketing coordinator for Mecklenburg County Park and Rec., and Brian McGee, who will be working at the Sugar Creek bash, to learn more.

Andres also met with representatives from Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers, Pearl Girls, and Positive Vibes Only, to learn why they partnered with Mecklenburg County Parks and Rec. to provide school supplies for these local drives.
He also got to talk to two eleventh-grade volunteers who will be working at the bash this weekend.
