CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Enjoy a modern-day retelling of a Greek tragedy in “Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles.”
Matt Olin from Charlotte is Creative and creative guest Michelle Medina Villalon joined us to talk about the award-winning play “Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles” coming to Charlotte.
Villalon has a background as a playwright, director and actor, and she has recently graduated Catawba College.
Villalon is co-directing “Mojada,” a modern-day Chicano retelling of the Greek tragedy Medea through the lens of the American immigration system. This is the first of playwright Luis Alfaro’s trilogy of Greek Tragedies, all retold through a modern Mexican-American experience.
Three Bone Theatre will be the first company in the country to produce the full trilogy over the next three years with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The play opens this Friday, Aug. 9, and will run through Aug. 24.
All performances are at The Arts Factory in West Charlotte, and there is free parking on site.
