CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - There’s nothing like summer days in Charlotte, check out what’s happening around the Queen City this weekend.

Dan + Shay (PNC Music Pavilion), Friday 7 p.m.: They were the first duo coaches on The Voice sharing their talent with rising stars, now they’re back on the road with the “Heartbreak On The Map” tour. They “10,000 Hours” crooners will be joined by Jake Owen and Dylan Marlowe. Tickets start at $41.30.

Charlotte Pride and Parade (Uptown), Saturday & Sunday: Uptown’s largest festival returns for an action-packed weekend celebrating the local LGBTQ community. With tons of live entertainment, art exhibits, vendors, a food court and so much more, Charlotte Pride has something for everyone. This year’s headliners are Bob the Drag Queen, Baby Tate and Slayyyter. Don’t miss the colorful Charlotte Pride Parade on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. down N. Tryon Street. Stop by the WBTV booth to meet your favorite on-air friends and to get some swag. Open Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.

Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live (Bojangles Coliseum), Saturday & Sunday: Bojangles Coliseum transforms into a roarin’ junk yard when Hot Wheels Monster Trucks come alive. Catch your favorites like Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Bone Shaker and more in a brand-new show with lasers, lights and neon that is sure to be fun for the whole family. Three shows only: Saturday 12:30 p.m., Saturday 7:30 p.m., Sunday 2:30 p.m. Tickets start at $23.

Gastonia Food + Brews Street Festival (Main St. Gastonia), Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Summer isn’t over just yet! After having to be rescheduled earlier this season, the street fair is back. With food trucks around every corner and some of the best breweries around town, indulge in a flavor-packed gathering with the community. Shop around with over 75 vendors and the little ones can enjoy activities at the Kids Zone. Admission is free.

Carolina Panthers vs. New York Jets (Bank of America Stadium), Saturday 7 p.m.: If you’ve waited all summer long for the return of football, now’s your chance to get an early look at this year’s roster at the first home pre-season game. How will the Panthers do against Aaron Rodgers and his Jets? Watch it live to find out. Tickets start at $20.

India Independence Day (Hindu Center of Charlotte), Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Celebrate the 78th year of India’s independence with a cultural festival that is open to all. Watch a flag hoisting ceremony, enjoy Indian cultural dances and music, see an exhibit honoring Indian Independence Day, as well as plenty of delicious Indian cuisine and a vendor market. Admission is free.

Cook Out Monster Truck Bash (Charlotte Motor Speedway), Saturday 4 p.m.: Feel the power of 2,000-horsepower mega monster trucks as the Charlotte Motor Speedway turns into a massive dirt track. Catch fan favorite trucks like Jurassic Attack, Kamikaze and Terminal Velocity. Arrive early for the Pit Party where you can ride your own Monster Truck, slide down inflatables, jump on bounce houses, get autographs and souvenirs. $35 for adults, $10 for 13 and under.

Science on the Rocks (Discovery Place), Saturday 6 to 9:30 p.m.: Have you ever wanted to see what a museum is like after hours? Join the fun this Saturday for an adults-only evening filled with hands-on science experiments, drinks and music. 21 and over only. Admission is $22 for non-members, $18 for members.

Disney’s The Lion King (Belk Theater), ongoing: Come relive the “Circle of Life” in Disney’s smash-hit musical that continues to break box office records on Broadway. From the songs you love like “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” to the creative puppetry that has dazzled millions of audiences worldwide, Disney’s The Lion King is still the musical that roars above the rest. Tickets start at $35.
