DAVIDSON, N.C. (QC Life) - An annual triathlon is returning to the Charlotte area this weekend more than a decade after it first started.

The Lake Davidson Triathlon is happening at Trane Technologies’ campus in Davidson on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 8 a.m.

Featuring running, swimming and biking events, Sunday’s race is an officially sanctioned USA Triathlon event.

Funds raised by the triathlon will benefit the Ada Jenkins Center, which helps people in poverty break the cycle and find economic independence.

Melisa Mohn, the triathlon director, and Sonni Dyer, triathlon coach at Queens University, joined the show to share more details.
