Good Friends Charlotte – The Gift of Helping Others A delicious holiday gift solution: sweet & savory roasted pecans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - A women-led nonprofit in Charlotte has a delicious holiday gift solution: sweet & savory roasted pecans. Good Friends Charlotte is accepting orders now through November 10 for festive favorites, roasted and buttered, or chocolate-covered pecans.

The nonprofit — founded in 1987 by four friends who wanted to give back — has become a philanthropic powerhouse, raising more than $6.2 million and serving more than 5,000 people. Multiple generations of women participate in the success of the organization that shows no signs of slowing down. The nonprofit receives more than 90 inquiries a day from those looking for a helping hand.

Good Friends clients live on the financial edge with every dollar stretched for normal household expenses. One small change can throw a family completely off balance. Through the collective giving of Good Friends, the organization offers small one-time grants that bridge individuals and families from fragility to stability.

The pecan sale is the unofficial start of the Good Friends fundraising season, which continues with the annual Gather & Give Luncheon, scheduled for Dec. 12 at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Pecan orders can be placed online through November 10, and pecan pickup will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. November 16 (address will be shared a week prior). Shipping is not available.
