Black Girls Film Camp gives teens a chance to learn filmmaking

Black Girls Film Camp

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Black Girls Film Camp is currently accepting submissions for teens to learn about filmmaking until October 31. They’re looking for Teen Directors, Production Coaches and Content Editors.

BGFC is a national 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization based in Charlotte. It provides a positive platform for Black girls 13-18 to express themselves creatively, learn more about filmmaking, and discover other careers.

Thousands of girls from across the country, and globally, have applied to take part in the 16-week program. Each year 10 girls are selected to be Teen Directors.

During the camp, girls get to develop and direct their own short film. BGFC provides them with an all-female mini production team (Production Coach & Content Editor) to help them put the project together.

Girls will hear from a stellar list of Black women professionals in the film & TV industry, and will get an all expenses paid trip to L.A. Production Weekend Retreat in partnership with USC Annenberg.
